Hotel Information - Housing Reservations

Don't forget to make your housing reservations early!  We have standard hotel rooms and larger suites available suitable for room sharing or travelling with your family.  Hotel rates start as low as $105.  Many hotels offer additional amenities that should be considered when selecting your accommodations.  Also, rbe sure to read the information below on the importance of staying at an EB offical hotel.

The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau and Passkey Inc. are the official housing providers for the Experimental Biology meeting. More detailed information on your housing options are available on this site  under Rates and Information; including rates at each hotel, type of rooms available, hotel amenities and distance to the Anaheim Convention Center. 

Why Choose an Official EB Hotel?

All EB attendees and exhibitors are encouraged to make hotel reservations by utilizing the official EB 2010 housing bureau (Anaheim/Orange County Visitors and Convention Bureau and Passkey Inc.).  We recognize that attendees have many options with area hotels and that you may be looking only at the per night cost in making your decision. However, we encourage you to take a few minutes to understand the importance of selecting an official EB hotel and the other factors beyond the per night rate.  

Experimental Biology has a long history of consistently fulfilling the minimum number of room nights to be sold according to our contracts with the hotels.  However, with the current economic climate and outside competition it gets more difficult each year to assure these rooms will be used by the attendees and exhibitors. 

What does this mean to you?

• When we are able to maintain a consistent history of hotel rooms sold, it helps us negotiate the lowest hotel rates possible for future EB meetings. 
  

• EB earns credit for each room night utilized by an attendee or exhibitor when the reservation is at an official conference hotel.   This credit helps to offset the rental costs of the convention center.  

• Our hotels contracts protect you.  Booking within the EB hotel block gives us the opportunity, if the need does arise, to assist you with any hotel problem you may experience while at the meeting.  When you choose other hotels we have no contacts or leverage to help rectify a problem or inconvenience that you may have encountered. 

• Many of the hotels are offering special amenities to EB attendees.   The special offers include: reduced or complimentary in room WiFi access (savings of up to $10 per day), discounted meals in the hotel restaurant (saving 20% on your meal), complimentary breakfast buffets (savings of an average of $12 - $18 per day) and waived resort fees (savings of $6 - $12 per day).  Please take into account these perks when choosing your hotel.

•  Lastly, be cautious of companies contacting you that claim to be affiliated with EB by offering discounted hotel rates.   You will be providing your contact information and credit card number to individuals that are not affiliated with EB.   They frequently have only 2-3 rooms at the advertised hotel; subcontract to 3rd party travel agents outside the U.S.; and are extremely difficult to track down by telephone or through their websites.   These are not reputable companies.  Only the Anaheim/Orange County Visitors and Convention Bureau and their partner Passkey Inc. provide housing registration on behalf of EB. 

Deadlines

The last day to make reservations at the discounted convention rate is March 19, 2010.  We encourage you to make your reservations early as the headquarter hotels (Hilton Anaheim and Marriott Anaheim) and lower priced properties will sell out first.   Do not wait until the March 19 deadline to make your reservations.  Your reservation can be updated until March 10 without penalty.
