Press Room: Overview
Qualified members of the media and freelance writers are invited to apply for complimentary press registration to cover the annual scientific meeting Experimental Biology (EB) 2016, in anticipation of their reporting on the science and related presentations being offered. Press registration allows qualified members of the media access to all scientific, general, special, and poster sessions and exhibits (but not closed or ticketed events). Additionally, EB provides a fully equipped and staffed newsroom with workstations for media attendees.
Press Credentials Policy
Media representatives, such as reporters, writers and videographers, are welcome to attend the meeting. Journalists who have press credentials (such as a press club badge) should bring their credentials to the EB Press Room in the San Diego Convention Center for registration or submit their credentials in advance to pre-register for the meeting. Questions and additional information can be obtained by contacting the EB media team at firstname.lastname@example.org. Click here for a Media Registration Form.
Journalists who do not have press credentials, such as freelancers, must (1) provide a letter of assignment, on official letter head, from the publication or broadcast outlet for which they are covering the meeting and (2) submit recent samples of their bylined work, along with appropriate identification, to apply for credentials.
Individuals representing other news outlets, such as online media, must provide a letter of assignment on official outlet letterhead and three recently published articles that relate to EB’s scientific coverage. Note that online outlets must provide content that is original and independent of advertising and sponsorship. Personal online websites do not qualify.
Individuals interested in blogging about the conference should contact email@example.com for additional information about the requirements.
Representatives of journals that do not contain news sections are not eligible for press passes; nor are editors of journals or other publications who do not edit their outlet’s news section. This rule will be strictly enforced.
Representatives of book, magazine and journal publishers as well as advertising and marketing representatives are ineligible for press passes.
Public information officers and individuals representing public relations firms must register as nonmembers and pay the nonmember conference rate.
The conference organizers reserve the right to limit the number of passes provided to any organization and the right to deny pass requests.
